An Airplane Module is a printed circuit board that
contains components centered on the Propeller Chip
including supporting components and parts. Not all
Airplane Modules contain the Propeller chip.
An Airplane Modular approach to the application of the
propeller chip enables the possibility of connecting,
directly or indirectly to several propeller chips.
The Engine: Each processor module contains the
Propeller chip, Regulators, EPROM, Power connections
and optional interfacing parts.
The Support: Airplane Modules can also contain
Display, Keyboard, Mouse Connections and other
Airplane modules contain analog components and all
are connectable to the processor boards. All
non-processor boards obtain Power from the processor
board and may have optional regulation on-board.
Programming: Each processor contains a USB port for
programming each Propeller chip. Programming can be
implemented by connection of an Airplane Module that
contains a Serial Port. Programming can be further
augmented by having one propeller chip program a
separate propeller chip.
This method of interconnecting propeller chips and Analog
circuit design makes this project an ideal candidate for the
propeller contest.
The Combination of modules provided here are (4) four in
number. The Top module is the display connections board
that for these purposes has every combination of IO being
studied at this time, VGA, RCA, Mic RCA, Mic PC, Speaker
RCA, Speaker PC type, Keyboard, Mouse and LED normally
only the only parts that would be installed are those that will
be used.
The driver for this is a processor board that has connectors
in all the right places. The processor module is connected to
another processor module via an 8 bit data bus.
The second processor module is plugged into an analog
circuit board that can process some very complex analog
sensors.
Please note that both processor modules have their own
power connectors and all grounds are tied at the power
supply.
Fully assembled this looks like a Borg cube.
With this modular approach a single module sometimes can
be all that’s needed until someone suddenly wants to
monitor things and with this method all one has to do is add
the display module.
